Abstract

Seyyed Jalaloddin Azod-e- Yazdi, nicknamed ‘Jalal’, is one of the most well-known poets of the 8th century. He was descended from oreizi Sadat dynasty. In his youth, he travelled from yazd to Shiraz and attended Abo Eshagh Injoo Court and praised the ruling dynasty of Al-e- injoo as well as some Al-e-Choopan rulers. His collections indicate that he had full domination on his temporary cultures and knowledge. He has worked on different poetic models and has had impacted poems of the following era particularly Hafeze-e-Shirazi. He employs archaic vocabularies, new combinations, references to fictional and mythological characters which is counted as Jalal’s specific characteristics. The main aim of this research lies in providing answers for two following questions:

1. Who is Jalil Azod? And how are his creativity and innovations evaluated in cultural and literary fields?

2. Has he had a separate and private style? How is he influenced by the ancients and that how he left influence on the subsequent poets?
